In its fourth special for Detroit Performs, “Dance on Detroit” presents “The Inspiration,” an exploration of the dance-making creative process. Meet Detroit-area artistic directors and choreographers as they share where they find their spark and see what drives the movement.

“Dance On Detroit, A Maggie Allesee Celebration Of Dance” airs Tuesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. on WTVS Detroit Public Television. The program features excerpts from “Stardust,” based on the music of David Bowie, as choreographed by Desmond Richardson of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and “The Osiris Legend,” choreographed by Ron De Jesus.

Dance On Detroit makes clear how Detroit is taking center stage in the international dance community and hear about works commissioned here.  In addition to individuals, dance companies featured include Eisenhower Dance, Northville Ballet Theatre, Artlab J, Take Root, and many others.
