The Grosse Pointe War Memorial presents SummerFest, a three-week festival of summertime fun. Starting this evening, guests will enjoy outdoor concerts, theater, and movies on the War Memorial’s beautiful back lawn, overlooking the sparkling blue waters of Lake St. Clair. The programs are free and open to the public of all communities.
SummerFest at the War Memorial happens Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, July 10-26. Tonight’s program includes a screening of “The LEGO Batman Movie.” Tuesday features a performance by Mainstreet Soul. Wednesay features NUCLASSICA. The grounds open at 6:30 p.m. The film screens at dusk. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
Light concessions, including popcorn and The War Memorial’s house-made donuts will be available for purchase, and food trucks, including Big Boy and Greenspace Café, will offer a wide variety of options. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic, but no alcoholic beverages may be brought. A full cash bar complete with water, soft drinks, beer, and wine will be available at each event.
