Thanks for this shoutout!

We are happy to announce that the $20 student balcony tickets are available for this performance to ONE AND ALL! Our way of saying THANKS DETROIT for a fabulous dance season! Just call box office at 313-887-8501 & tell them 'STUDENT'.

Oh and by the way -- Alvin Ailey was of course the founder of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. It was Arthur Mitchell, with Karel Shook, who founded the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

But we love them all!

12.9.2012
Tonight I attended Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings - Holiday Brass Concert. The ENTIRE concert was WONDERFUL. But the outstanding performance of Christmas Cantata written and conducted by Brandon Ulrich was BEYOND WONDERFUL. Quite frankly, I want a CD copy NOW - it was SO incredibly beautiful. Brandon conducted his own piece passionatly, the Brass Talent was wonderful, and it was all enriched by the talent of the Stoney Creek High School Choir from Rochester Community Schools. BRAVO.

I was one of the parent chaperons (with the Tri M student members) for yesterday's dress rehearsal performance of Julius Caesar. At first I didn'nt know what I thought as I wasn't expecting this version- and didn't read any reviews at all. When I left the Opera House I found myself smiling more and more and honestly LOVE the new take on the opera. The music was magnificent as were the performers and their beautiful voices...
I want to take my husband to see it!!
