Make a date: the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show is coming up July 29 and 30. Voted one of the top 100 art shows in the nation, the juried fine art show includes original handmade work, representing most all media and price ranges.

Produced by HotWorks, the 15th annual OLFAS has moved to a new location: West Bloomfield High School. Guests also will enjoy live entertainment and quality food from local restaurants Yardbirds and Noodles.

The exhibit includes the Youth Art Competition, sponsored by Institute for the Arts & Education, the associated 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose focus is visual arts, diversity, community enrichment and fostering art education among youth. The program helps bring art education into the community, students in grades K-8, or ages 5-13, are encouraged to submit art to be publicly displayed in the art show the entire weekend. There is $250 in youth art awards to help students discover the entrepreneurship opportunities in fine art.

Admission is $5; free for children ages 13 & under. West Bloomfield High School is located at 4925 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield 48323. The site includes ample, free parking for patrons. Hours are Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
