Painters will take to the great outdoors this weekend to capture the wonder that is Livingston County, Michigan. Co-hosted by the Brighton Art Guild and the Livingston Arts Council, the Livingston Paint Out 2017 is a plein air competition in which artists will complete their paintings outdoors and within a specific time period on Saturday and Sunday, July 22 & 23.
Participants can paint anywhere in Livingston County – from its many lakes and country roads to its charming towns with sidewalk bistros and brick storefronts. The Paint Out event is open to all artists, all ages, and all media.
Artists will sign in at the Howell Opera House on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sunday from 8-11 a.m. After the works are completed, they will be displayed in the CoBACH Center and ArtVentures in Brighton July 24-Aug. 3, and Aug. 4-6 in a special tent during the Brighton Fine Art and Music Festival. Judging will take place during the festival for a number of cash prizes.
