Detroit Theatre Collective will present two one-act plays from the early career of Lanford Wilson at Matrix Theater the coming days. The performance combines the late Pulitzer Prize winner’s Ikke, Ikke, Nye, Nye, Nye and The Great Nebula in Orion, both from the early 1970s. Both comedic and dramatic, the plays reflect the great social, sexual and cultural changes of the 1960s and 70s as embodied by four unique characters. Performances on select dates, Aug. 11-18.
The Detroit Theatre Collective production features performances by Mary Elizabeth Byrnes, Phillip J. Hughes, Karen Kron and T.M. Rawlins with direction by Chris Berryman.
Detroit Theatre Collective was founded in 2013, focusing on the longer-term development of theatre, media and dance works. DTC previously produced 3 Works by Strindberg, which played in downtown Detroit during June of 2015.
