Detroit-based author and historian Ken Coleman will focus on the difference in terminology that people use to describe the events of 1967 such as “riot,” “rebellion,” and “civil unrest.” He’s written and published four books on black life in Detroit and is a contributor to the book, Detroit 1967: Origins, Impacts, Legacies.
Rebellion, Revolution or Riot: The Debate Continues by Ken Coleman is Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Detroit Historical Museum. The program begins at 6 p.m.
