Support a good cause and have big fun in the process when Detroit Children’s Choir hosts a special gala Saturday, April 28, “Shine@MotownMansion.” The evening features entertainment by members of Detroit Children’s Choir, live music, an auction, and a dance party. Guests also will enjoy a strolling dinner and refreshments.
Founded in 2006 by Carol Schoch to use the power of choral music education as a cultural platform to unite children of diverse backgrounds, the Detroit Children’s Choir today is made up of more than 300 children, ages 8-18, who have a passion and love for singing. Choir members come from a variety of cities in Southeast Michigan, representing a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Children receive music literacy, sight reading skills and vocal technique along with the opportunity to perform on stages in the Detroit metro area. The music is selected to engage children in singing, including a wide variety of music of American heritage, classic children’s choral works, and texts in foreign languages. The Detroit Children’s Choir is committed to developing young leaders who will bring about positive change in our city.
Ticket proceeds directly benefit the educational programs of the Detroit Children’s Choir. Tickets are now available online ($250/Patron and $125/General Admission).
