DP: When will the dedication be for the mosaics at the Detroit Public Library?
GRK: The dedication for the two newest mosaics will be Sunday Afternoon, April 15th at 2:00 P.M.  The dedication is open to the public.  There will be a short program thanking the students and the schools, and light refreshments. Parking in the staff parking lot off Putnam will be open, first come first serve, from 1-5 P.M.
DP: Will you be continuing the Lighting Up Learning and Literacy program?
GRK: As for continuing the program…the answer is YES…YES…YES….  It is a win win for all involved.  As this library project comes to a close, I am now looking into new venues that would be able to showcase the community art created by students from the Detroit Schools.  Funding these mosaic artworks is a huge consideration and I am available to meet with potential donors who are interested in helping to bring art opportunities to our students in the schools.  My mosaic partner, Dani Katsir, and myself, have spearheaded installations in hospitals, schools, libraries and community centers…these works empower all who work on them as artists, and at the same time the art makes the walls and buildings come alive.  We are excited to continue with this mission.
