Enjoy an afternoon of great music featuring the impressive sounds of the 95-piece FCB Concert Band, under the direction of Maestro Damien Crutcher, as they present “Colors of Spring.” An entertaining array of concert band classics, the program will be held Sunday, April 15 at Harrison High School Auditorium in Farmington Hills, beginning at 3 p.m.
Featured guest conductor is Dr. Mary K. Schneider, Director of Bands at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Schneider will lead the band as it performs “Let Freedom Ring” by Ryan Nowlin and a Sousa march, “Bullets and Bayonets.”
The “centerpiece” for this concert will be a presentation of scholarship awards to several high school students who participated in the first annual FCB Honor Band program. The program was designed to enhance the musical experience for talented wind and percussion students in Farmington Public Schools. These Honor Band students will perform on stage with the FCB Concert Band.
The band will also participate in the Motor City Festival of Bands at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn on Sunday, April 22 beginning at 3 pm. For more information visit fcbmusic.org.
