A very special spot downtown has turned into a brilliant outdoor kaleidoscope. Beacon Park in Detroit is hosting Prismatica, an interactive art installation of 25 illuminated columns clustered in several spaces throughout the park.

Visitors spin the columns, three-sided prisms which resemble giant cave crystals. As the columns rotate, the colors and brightness they emit seems to change, creating a unique combination at every moment — and a special experience for each observer.

Created by RAW Design of Toronto and on exhibit through Sunday, Nov. 18, Prismatica is free and open to the public. Beacon Park is located at Grand River Avenue and Cass Avenue, near the DTE Energy Town Square building.
