Enjoy a masterful performance of upbeat music on an amazing instrument when University of Michigan Gifts of Art presents Gerald Ross: American Ukulele. The performance is Thursday, Jan. 3 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, beginning at noon in the Main Lobby. The program is free and open to the public of all communities.
Gerald Ross is one of America’s best-known ukulele performers, entertainers and advocates. He’s comfortable with just about every type of Americana roots music, and he’ll play it all on ukulele and steel guitar. He’s performed in concert with Bonnie Raitt, Arlo Guthrie and Doc Watson, and he has appeared many times on “A Prairie Home Companion.” In addition to performing, Ross is a much sought after teacher of ukulele and steel guitar at festivals and music camps around the country.
