Enjoy Armenian classical music when U-M Gifts of Art presents the Karapetyan-Suarez Duo. Free and open to the public, the concert performance is Thursday at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, beginning at noon on Jan. 24 in the main lobby.

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Henrik Karapetyan holds a doctorate in violin performance from U-M, is a member of the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, and is active as a folk, Gypsy and jazz violinist throughout the Midwest. Pianist Xavier Suarez currently resides in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he leads the active career of a soloist, collaborator and teacher. Having performed together since 2010, the Karapetyan-Suarez Duo will present a program focusing mostly on classical compositions by 19th and 20th century composers of Armenian origin.
