The concept of the Latin Violin was inspired by the poem by Cuban poet, Maria “Mappy” Torres. The idea, expressed in words by Torres, is here described by the music of violinist Gregor Huebner. Huebner’s music is heavily influenced by Eastern European folk and Roma music, which he feels is clearly audible in the music of South America, the common denominator being the violin.
The performance features vocalist Yumaria Grijt.
