Witness the healing powers of music and performance when the Detroit Institute of Arts presents Holes in Hearts | Handles for Holding on Friday. Performances are at 7 and 8:30 p.m. on May 17.

The program is an evening of performances by local and national musicians who integrate creative practices with healing practices in their own personal journeys and/or in their work supporting the healing and well-being of others.

Conversations that address mental health are crucial for communities of many backgrounds and identities. Artists that explore mental health in their work can provide an entry point into these conversations, and in turn into collective support, coping, and healing.

Solo performances and group improvisations by Matthew Daher, Zena Carlota, Jennifer Simone, and Betsy Soukup,.

Friday Night Live! is generously supported by the DTE Energy Foundation and your tri-county millage investment in the DIA.
