Fusing the arts of healing and sound, the Detroit Medical Orchestra presents “Celebrating a Decade of Healing Through Music.” Featuring physician-clarinetist Dr. Michael L. Cher, M.D., the stellar program will be held Sunday, May 19, beginning at 3:30 p.m., in the Community Arts Auditorium of Wayne State University. The concert is free and open to the public of all communities.

Chair of Urology, WSU School of Medicine, and Chief of Urology, Karmanos Cancer Institute, and also the principle clarinet of Spectrum Orchestra, Dr. Cher will be performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. The program:

  • MOZART  Clarinet Concerto in A Major
  • ELGAR  Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1
  • ELGAR  Enigma Variations

​The WSU Community Arts Auditorium is located at 5401 Cass Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202. Situated on the campus of Wayne State University, the Community Arts Auditorium is located just north of the Walter P. Reuther Library on the northwest side of Cass Avenue, between West Palmer Avenue and West Kirby Street.

Convenient parking is available for $9 at the Detroit Historical Museum (5401 Woodward Ave).  This is just 1/2 block away from Community Arts Auditorium.  The parking fee the supports community-enriching programs of the DHM and Detroit Historical Society.
