Hear extraordinary music performed by virtuosic artists when Tuesday Musicale of Detroit presents its 2019 Artists of the Year Concert Tuesday evening. The live performance stars Yoonshin Song, violinist and Concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Maria Meirelles, pianist extraordinaire recognized for her interpretations of Romantic composers.
Featuring special guest Alex Sakarellos, violin, the performance will be held at Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4. The program features Beethoven’s exquisite “Kreutzer” Violin Sonata No. 9 in A Major, as well as works of Bach, Liszt, Bloch, and Sarasate.
The concert represents a bittersweet performance. Ms. Song will be stepping down from her position with the DSO to become the Concertmaster of the Houston Symphony Orchestra later this year.
