Detroit Fine Art Fair 8

Detroit Fine Art Fair 8
July 6, 2019 paperlesslion

Enjoy the arts, music and fun at the 8th Annual Detroit Fine Art Fair. Featuring 20 of Detroit’s finest artists, the fair showcases sculpture, photography, fine art, metals, wood, textiles, ceramics and more Saturday, Aug. 10, at The Old Miami.

The fair is free and open to the public of all communities. Profits will go to helping the local non-profit charity the Congregation of Every 1, which has been providing survival backpacks to the homeless since 2013.

Only art/artisans are featured, not mainstream product vendors – in order to keep the integrity as an “art fair.” Some of the many artists featured are Zacariah Messiah’s unique spider art, devious dolls by Sondra’s Creepy Dolls and the organizer of the Fair – artist Julie Fournier – will also display her paintings from her Smiling Eyes Studio.

A variety of music from rock to blues will be provided by The Zotz, Blackmail, Laughing Madmen, Madigan’s Attic and Michigan Basement Blues Band. Special guest MC is Detroit performance artist, Satori Circus, who will also perform. Food offerings will be for sale from Pietrzyk Pierogi.

The Old Miami is located at 3930 Cass Avenue in Midtown. From the street, the place looks like the nightclub; in back, it’s got a great open yard. Experience great art, music, and lots of cool drinks from the patio bar. Local artists, artisans, music, and a grassroots community vibe is the focus of the annual event.
