The world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture cruises through Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Pontiac, Pleasant Ridge and, unofficially, Detroit on Saturday.
Starring 40,000 cruisers — hot rods, custom creations, muscle cars, sports cars, classic wheels and other roaring and rolling automotive rarities — the 2019 Woodward Dream Cruise is expected to attract more than 1 million visitors along the 16-mile loop through Oakland County and the road beyond.
There are no fees to cruise in the event or to watch. Anyone can participate although, those not driving a classic car are asked to stay out of the two right lanes nearest to the curb. Parking can be a problem, depending on community and location.
