Indie films from the United States and Canada screen Friday and Saturday at the Southeast Michigan Film Festival at The Sanctuary in Hamtramck. Showcasing the talents of independent filmmakers, the works aim to bring together communities through storytelling, creating common ground for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Organizers report more than half the films in the competition were made in Michigan. Recognition will be given to filmakers for:
- Best Short
- Best Feature
- Best Writer
- Best Director
