Charles Dickens’ classic yuletide tale of charity and redemption is beautifully adapted into a dramatic reading by Shakespeare in Detroit’s company of talented actors. Shakespeare in Detroit: A Christmas Carol is Monday, Dec. 23, at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.

Held in the historic 1910 home built by Russell A. Alger, Jr., the performance takes place with the quiet glow of a lovely fire and the comforting warmth of family and friends. Guests also will enjoy with a complimentary cocktail and cookies, and leave the evening with a beautiful keepsake ornament.
