Beats, rhythms, klings, klangs and all manner of organized sound and movement will fill the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts Sunday during STOMP. The performance Sunday, Jan. 12, begins at 3 p.m.
For previous viewers, there’s always something new. For new viewers, STOMP is an experience unlike any other. With no dialogue, no instruments, and only 8 performers, STOMP has been keeping audiences enthralled for more than 25 years. Troupe members use matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, everything but traditional instruments, to create amazing rhythms.
Creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas call the show an “exploration of rhythm in everyday things.”
