French contemporary dance company Malandain Ballet Biarritz makes its Detroit Opera House debut Saturday. Known for their celebration of sensuality and humanity, the repertory program is a perfect date for Valentine’s weekend, performing emotive works from classic composers including Vivaldi, Chopin and Ravel.
The company was founded in 1998 by director Thierry Malandain in Biarritz, France. The historic city is located along the Basque coast of southern France.
