The Livonia Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Volodymyr Shesiuk, music director and conductor, present “Passport to Scandinavia” Saturday. Featuring pianists Tomoko and Yuki Mack on Carl Czerny’s incredible piano concerto for four hands, the program begins at 4 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Louis Schmidt Auditorium in Clarenceville High School in Livonia.
The Mack Sisters, Tomoko and Yuki, are a virtuosic piano duo based in Michigan. Each a Steinway Artist, the twin sisters have dazzled audiences on three continents.
The composer Carl Czerny was a pupil of Ludwig van Beethoven. Published in 1829, Czerny’s piano concerto for four hands is considered a brilliant work of beauty and power.
