The Detroit Symphony Orchestra brings Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires to four metropolitan Detroit neighborhoods in the coming days. Performances of the DSO William Davidson Neighborhood Concert Series program are Thursday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1 in West Bloomfield, Plymouth, Bloomfield Hills and Grosse Pointe Woods.
The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires is Piazzolla’s response to Vivaldi’s wildly popular The Four Seasons—with an Argentinian tango twist. Paolo Bortolameolli of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra conducts the DSO and soloist violinist Angelo Xiang Yu in a program that also includes Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony, Op. 73a and Romero’s Fuga y Pajarillo.
