The Knight Media Forum hosted the year’s most important gathering of leaders in journalism, technology, philanthropy and the community — all exploring ways to strengthen local news coverage and our nation’s democracy.

As the media world moves through a period of massive change, Detroit Public TV is honored to again offer you and your community a shareable livestream of the sold-out Knight Media Forum Feb. 25-26.  The lineup is extraordinary; the issues are critical.  We built the coverage to allow you to connect it to all your stakeholders.

As the media world moves through a period of massive change, Detroit Public Television is honored to offer a shareable livestream of the sold-out Knight Media Forum next Tuesday and Wednesday in Miami.  The line-up is extraordinary, the issues are critical: shrinking local newsrooms, expanding news deserts, and the threat these changes pose for democracy.

Presented by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the conference’s agenda this year will spotlight the people and projects working to address these challenges, highlighting innovative experiments in local journalism, insights for foundations on investing in accountability reporting, finding and funding minority-led media innovation projects and more. Click here to view the Knight Media Forum agenda.

Detroit Public TV will live-stream the conference on February 25-26 and provide it free of charge to organizations concerned with the future of news and its impact on our democracy.

Anchoring the coverage is Emmy-winning journalist, Hari Sreenivasan, host of “PBS NewsHour Weekend” and the national public television show “SciTech Now.”

With DPTV’s live feed, funding organizations and the people who support them will be able to view these crucial conversations as they occur.
