News from Gary Anderson and Plowshares Theatre:

We’re writing in response to the increasing challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control issued a new recommendation advising that all events and gatherings of more than 10 people be postponed for the next eight weeks. In response to these new guidelines, Plowshares Theatre Company will postpone our spring world premiere production of ROOST, originally scheduled to begin on April 24.

In addition, we are suspending our Plowshares Artists Salon series for the foreseeable future. While these are difficult decisions, postponing programming comes out of our commitment to putting the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and artists first.

For those of you who already have tickets to ROOST, we will honor them during the rescheduled performance period. We’re in the process of rescheduling the show for later in the year. We will keep you aware of any new information.

We haven’t made any firm decisions concerning the summer production. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow closely the advice of the CDC as well as state and local health officials to make the most informed decisions for our patrons and staff.

The next few weeks are going to be challenging times for all of us. The impact of this decision is significant and comes at a great cost both emotionally and fiscally. We’re grateful to all the artists who are impacted by this in their professional schedules. They have been the embodiment of selflessness grace.

Plowshares Theatre Company continues to be committed to producing work by artists of color and women. We’re seeking a way to share these stories with you as soon as possible. We are forever grateful to our loyal community that show up and supports our work. If nothing else, this situation has shown us we are all in this together. There is an invisible thread that connect us to one another. The stories that we share help us to understand our shared humanity.

Finally, we as that you consider making a tax-deductible gift. Your welcomed and much needed support of Plowshares Theatre Company is more important now as we navigate these very uncertain financial times. Thank you for your understanding and generosity.

We are deeply grateful,
