The Kids from Amandla Street by South African playwright Lereko Mfono brings to the stage the lively and prejudiced Amandla Street as seen through the eyes of four youth. These youth want to change the world, live their lives to the fullest, and dream of all they can become. This comes in stark contrast to the reality of racism, fear, and potential violence that surrounds them and threatens to steal their dreams.
“When theater for youth is done well it gives everyone in the audience something to walk away with. Spinning Dot Theatre Productions always do,” shared Amy Johnson, Matrix Theatre Company Director of Education.
