Want to connect to the latest information on COVID-19 and its impact on Detroit? Join this week’s town hall TODAY at noon.
Each week, the COVID313 Community Coalition for Metro Detroit Families and Students and Detroit Public Television collaborate on a live, virtual town hall to support parents, students and families during the outbreak.
Organized last month when schools closed, the Coalition is made up of nearly two-dozen leading organizations in Detroit – both major organizations like the United Way to grass-roots organizations like 482Forward. Each town hall features experts in public health, education, basic needs, financial resources and more to give updates and answer questions from the citizens of Metro Detroit.
As we are all looking to connect to assets and information needed during the crisis, we wanted to share with the COVID313 effort, a powerful coalition of organizations that are gathering and sharing resources for Detroiters.
We have been working with these incredible folks since the start of the crisis. They are amazing. The town hall is delivered in English, but offers simultaneous translation channels for Spanish and Arabic.
This week, DPTV’s Tara Hardy, the Manager of Early Childhood Initiatives, will speak directly to the stress felt by parents and teachers who are trying to manage their work, their finances, and their children’s education. She’ll describe how DPTV is engaging with the community and adjusting our programming and our work to meet the needs of families in this critical time.
Information from the call helps to build the list of community resources posted at https://covid313.org/.
